Maui Wowi has provided me with the opportunity to meet some amazing people. None are more amazing than Meghan Rothschild of SurvivingSkin.org. Meghan is a Melanoma survivor and travels from school to school telling her story of beating the deadly disease, along with how to prevent others from getting it. Her story is a major wakeup ca...ll for many people that frequently tan in tanning beds or booths. Part of Meghan's offering is a "Skin Fair". She teams up with Maui Wowi and Ava Anderson to host this event for each college, which not only speaks to how to prevent Melanoma, but also shows alternative skin care products from Ava Anderson and provides students with a nice all-natural Smoothie while there. This was our second year at Norwich University for their Annual SnoBall event. The majority of the school is a military school. Hence the fatigues. We find ourselves on the picturesque campus of Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH. We first worked with Franklin Pierce this past Spring Semester during their Spring Week Festivities. We were such a hit, that they brought us back for the Fall Semester. This time, however, we had a specific purpose: Bribe students to fill out an important survey for Student Activities! Student Activities needed feedback from the student body about what activities they'd like to see on campus, what they like, and what they don't like. As students walked by, they were asked to fill out a survey. If they did, they received a free Maui Wowi Smoothie, compliments of Campus Activities. Needless to say, they got 500 surveys filled out!! Maui Wowi has partnered up with Surviving Skin and is a part of Surviving Skin's "Skin Fairs" happening on college campuses all over New England! The first one of these events was held at my alma mater, WNEC! Meghan Rothschild, founder of Surviving Skin, and a Melanoma survivor, speaks about her experience beating the disease and teaches college students how to protect themselves from it. Additionally, Envy Mobile Tans, Maui Wowi and Ava Anderson non-toxic make-up are on hand for students as well. Students can sample Ava Anderson products, grab a smoothie from Maui Wowi, and get a spray tan from Envy Mobile Tan! The Maui Wowi College Tour Continues....This week we find ourselves in the lovely town of Keene, NH at Keene State College. As part of their Welcome Back Week, Zack and Jen from Student Activities put on an event for students to be able to get a feel for what clubs and activities are available to them. Everything from Frats & Sororities, to Rugby Club & Chess Club were on display. So, in order to ensure a good student turn-out at the event, they invited Maui Wowi to bring our Tiki Hut on campus and serve our all-natural, non-fat delicious smoothies to everyone. Why Kona Coffee Is Different

In order to be called “Kona Coffee,” coffee must be grown in a small area on the West Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. The Kona Coffee growing region is only about fifty square miles in all, and is farmed largely by small landowners.

Like much of Hawaii, Kona offers ideal climate conditions for growing coffee. But there is something different about the Kona coffee cherries produced here that has earned this coffee a worldwide reputation for excellence. It might be the dark rich volcanic soil, which contains a perfect blend of acidity and minerals, and retains just the right amount of water. It could be the dependable cloud cover that rolls in each afternoon, protecting the delicate coffee trees from the glaring afternoon sun.

The difference could also lie in the care with which Kona coffee is handpicked, ensuring that only the highest quality berries are harvested for coffee production. Maybe it is simply the fact that 100% Pure Kona Coffee is rare and sometimes hard to find. The rarest of Kona Coffee beans is Peaberry, making up only four to five percent of the entire Kona crop each year. Peaberry is unusual because each coffee cherry contains only one bean, while all other types of Kona contain two beans per cherry.

There are many things that set Kona Coffee apart from other coffees. One thing is certain, though – unless the bag says 100% Kona Coffee, you are not getting 100% Kona Coffee.

We love going to Anna Maria College and love that they keep bringing us back! Some of the greatest students we come across are at this school and it's a fun event for us every time. This time Brian brought us in for Welcome Back Week. We were one of many festivities during this week, including a comedy show, the football team's first game of the year, and game shows galore. Maui Wowi Serves up Smoothies at MIT Event at The New England Aquarium!

We definitely get to go to some cool events and places. Anyone in New England loves the Aquarium in Boston. Everyone loves the penguins and the sea turtles and the sharks. On Thursday, they had another reason to love The Aquarium...Maui Wowi Smoothies! MIT was having an event at the Aquarium, and the Aquarium recommended having Maui Wowi there to serve up our all-natural, non-fat Hawaiian Smoothies, along with bottled water and sodas. We love going Hollywood! For a couple of years now, we have been lucky enough to get to work on many of the movies being filmed here in Boston. It's an honor to continue to get called back, and an even better feeling when cast and crew remember us from other movies we've done! Tonight, we find ourselves on the set of "What's Your Number?", starring Anna Farris, Chris Evans, Joel McHale, Andy Samberg and others. This was our second time on the set. This time at the W Hotel in Boston. As you'll see from the pics we were located outside right near where they were filming. Joel McHale was filming a scene inside The W and the cast and crew would make their way out to us for some Hawaiian Java to keep themselves going throughout the night!

This weekend we found ourselves in Rochester, NY on the campus of Rochester Institute of Technology. What a cool campus! Some great buildings and a very cool group of students. Since RIT has a program specifically for Deaf Students, we had to learn how to 'sign' our flavors! It was very cool. The weather was also very cool, at 50 degrees, rainy and windy, but we indoors, so it worked out just fine. Awesome time on a Saturday afternoon and nowhere else we would've rather been. I feel as though we live at Roger Williams University these days, which is awesome! We have been doing a lot events for this beautiful school lately and each one gets better and better! It's an annual event. Floralia. It's utter chaos. Students set up tents and camp out on the quad and party the night away, wake up early the next morning and keep going at it all day long and back into the next night. There's a DJ, bands, tons of food, you name it. It's an awesome event overall and we're always psyched to be a part of it!! This year it was 80 degrees and sunny and you just knew the students were going to be ready for some smoothies. So Maui Wowi delivered. There was a steady line all day long and we had a ton of fun. I feel like Maui Wowi has had a permanent Tiki Hut on Roger Williams University's campus for the past month! When they find something they like, they bring it back over and over again! You won't hear any complaints from us over that either. We love going there. This is one of the best group of people you will ever want to work with. This time, RWU had us serving smoothies for their Spring Carnival on the Common. We were along side dippin' dots, a stuffed animal making station and a plethora of other games an entertainment. We served up strawberrry-banana, mango orange, and pina colada smoothies and everyone had a blast! It was 80 degrees and sunny and there was no other place we would've rather been! Maui Wowi was invited back to Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire to be a part of their Spring Carnival. April 28th, and it's snowing. Perfect time for smoothies! We were there along with some people who were making tie dye shudder shades and frisbees. We were a huge hit, as you might have guessed, with a non-stop line all day long. We hope this is the first of many times for us in Rindge, NH at Franklin Pierce!

Suffolk University has Maui Wowi at it's Relaxation Day

Ahhh...I'm relaxed just thinking about it. Massages, an ice cream sundae bar, and Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies...Suffolk University had us back on campus again to be a part of their relaxation day. Students were treated to Massages by professional Massage Therapists, in preparation for their upcoming finals. While they would wait for their massage, they would swing on over to the Tiki Hut and have a vacation in a cup and feel like they were on a tropical getaway. Maui Wowi back at SNHU-Stock 2010!

We found ourselves back at Southern New Hampshire University for their annual SNHU-Stock event. This year's event got sidetracked a little bit by weather and had to be held inside. It was still a good time had by all though. There were bands playing in the Pub, a flag football tournament outside, a sno-cone machine, and of course, Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies! We treated the students to Strawberry-Banana, Passion Papaya, and Lemon Wave smoothies. Mahalo to Southern New Hampshire for having us out!

Roger Williams University's NCRH Dorm has Maui Wowi at their BBQ!

Aloha again! Just a beautiful Saturday all together, and you can't get any more picturesque than the Roger Williams University Campus. Roger Williams and Maui Wowi will be working together quite a bit over the next 2 weeks, starting with their 7 Dorm BBQ's! We will be at each dorm for each BBQ, serving smoothies and it started today with the brand new NCRH Dorm. This is one un-real dorm. I would love to live there! It's nicer than most Luxury Apartments in Boston! Since this was the first BBQ ever for this dorm, they had t-shirts made up stating, "You Never Forget The First Time". I'm sure it was referring to the Dorm....Anyway, great event over all and an aweseome time was had. In addition to Maui Wowi Smoothies, they had beach volleyball going, and an inflatable waterslide!! I was tempted to stop serving and give it a try myself. Mahalo to Danny for an awesome event. We were honored to be a part of it. Bentley University brings Ludacris and Maui Wowi back to Campus!

One of our favorite College Spring Events every year is Bentley University's Spring Day. This is one insane party!! They spare no expense and go all out. They also seem to have some sort of connection with Mother Nature, because every year it's Sunny and 70 degrees. The students are always full of fun and we have a good time. They brought Maui Wowi and several other vendors on campus to treat the students and help them keep the party going all day long. There was also a water slide set up on the football field! The entire day was capped off by Ludacris performing that night in the gym!! All and all another awesome event at Bentley. Mahalo to Stacie for bringing us back! Senior Celebration and Expo Day at Bridgewater State College

It was Seeennnyahhh Dayyyy at Bridgewattaaahh State. Pardon the Massachusetts Accent. Just was a golden opportunity. Anyway, Maui Wowi was invited to serve smoothies at Bridgewater State College's Senior Celebration and Expo Day. From 2pm-5pm, students could come in, pick up their caps and gowns, and stop by various other stations pertinent to a graduating senior. Students could get their resume critiqued, fill out Alumni Info, or get their picture taken. On their way to each station, they all stopped by the Maui Wowi Tiki Hut to grab a refreshing, delicious all-natural, non-fat smoothie to take with them. It was a perfect event and everyone had a great time. I have to say, these were some of the funniest students I've met since I've been serving smoothies. Great group of students and a lot of fun! American International College got their GTL on by having Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies on campus for a day during their Health Week. They needed something healthy and delicious, so naturally, you immediately think of Maui Wowi all-natural, non-fat Hawaiian Smoothies! Since it's Health Week, I'm sure students were going straight to the Gym after a smoothie. It was a beautiful, sunny day and I saw lots of people laying out for a Tan. It's a college campus, so I'm sure somebody was doing Laundry somewhere. And that's The Situation....

Quincy College says Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies are "The Shizzle"!

Aloha! Quincy College in Quincy, MA had Maui Wowi back on campus for their annual Spring Fling Event, being held in the Student Lounge. Students were also treated to caricatures and temporary tattoos. So, while they were waiting in line to get their picture drawn, or to "Get Some Ink" on their body, they were able to grab a all-natural non-fat smoothie. We served up Black Raspberry, Strawberry-Banana and Passion Papaya to all the lucky students who showed up between 10am and 1pm. Everyone had a blast as always! Mahalo to Kathi and Quincy College for once again bringing us in!

These were two of the coolest cats we've had stop by the Tiki Hut and I promised them I'd give them a shout-out on the Blog. Maui Wowi bringing our Vacation In A Cup to Nichols College StayCation Event!

At Nichols College, Spring Break is almost here and they asked Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies to come in once again and give the students a preview of the tropical vacations they'll be going on next week by serving them our delicious, tropical drinks from behind our famous Tiki Hut! Nichols had us set up in the Campus Center at Alumni Hall and as students came in to get their mail or grab a bite to eat, they were greeted by Hawaiian Shirted Servers behind a Tiki Hut serving them Strawberry-Banana, Pina Colada and Black Raspberry Smoothies! Everyone had an awesome time as usual. Even the students who weren't going anywhere tropical for Spring Break were happy to have us in and make them feel like they were at the pool drinking a tropical drink! Mahalo once again to Nichols! Another day, another Safe Spring Break Event! Hey, that's just how Maui Wowi Rolls! We were invited to the Haverhill, MA campus of Northern Essex Community College to serve smoothies to the students during their Safe Spring Break Hawaiian Themed Event. We had an awesome time and so did the students. There was limbo, music, ping pong, food, and of course, Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies. We served up Mango Orange, Strawberry-Banana, and Passion Papaya as students received their Spring Break Kits. Maui Wowi at Amherst College Serving Smoothies for Safe Spring Break Event

Aloha! Annnnnd we're off! Our busy season has begun! Spring time at College Events! We start off this season much the same we started off last year at Amherst College in Amherst, MA. We were invited back to serve our all-natural, non-fat smoothies to the students in the Keefe Campus Center for their Safe Spring Break Event. Students were greeted with either a Strawberry-Banana, Mango-Orange, or Passion-Papaya Smoothie, and a Safe Spring Break Kit to help them come back from Cancun, Florida, Vegas or wherever safe and sound. We were non-stop the entire 3 hours we were there (what else is new?) and everyone had a great time. Mahalo, once again, Amherst College!!

Maui Wowi Supports the Troops and The Troops Support Maui Wowi! We were invited to be a part of Norwich University's Winter Carnival on their campus in beautiful Vermont! We are always honored to be a part of any campus' event and this was no different. John and the crew put on quite a show. Rook Dining, in the Wise Campus Center, was packed with under and upperclassmen. The underclassmen wearing their fatigues, of course, and it was a great site to see them all in line waiting for either a Strawberry-Banana, Black Raspberry, or Lemon Wave Smoothie. We also served up Kona Espressos, with caramel, vanilla and peppermint mocha. We also served up Ghiradelli Hot Kokos to go along with the smoothies, lattes and cappuccinos. Maui Wowi loves NACA! We found ourselves in our backyard, Boston, for the NACA 50th Anniversary Annual Conference! As many of you know, Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies is no stranger to the NACA Regional Conferences, but this was our first National Conference, and it was awesome! We served thousands of free smoothies to all the students in attendance, giving them all a taste of the Aloha Spirit, and what we could bring to their Campus Events. We met some incredible people and are looking forward to working with our current schools as well as new schools this year! Looking for a great way to draw people to a an event your having, or make it even more fun? Well, The Pomfret School knows who to turn to! They had Maui Wowi back for the third time in a year to serve Kona Espressos, Lattes, Mohcas, Cappuccinos and Ghiradelli Hot Kokos to the students to keep them wired during their Relay For Life Event. This is a great cause and we're honored to be a part of it. Not only that, the students themselves are just flat-out hilarious and a lot of fun to be around! Maui Wowi at Regis College for their Poker Tournament!

Today we find ourselves in the town of Weston, on the Regis College Campus. They invited us back for their Poker Tournament!! Maui Wowi loves Regis College and the enthusiasm they have for our Smoothies! It's always very fun while there and a great time is had by all. We served up Strawberry-Banana, Lemon Wave, and Mango Orange Smoothies during the 3 hour tournament while students played for gift cards. Maui Wowi at Brandeis University 2010 Winter Orientation

Aloha and Happy New Year! What better way to start off the New Year than having strawberry-banana, mango-orange and Lemon Wave Smoothies! Brandeis University invited us back on campus for 3 hours to be a part of their Winter Orientation Event. We were such a hit at their Fall Orientation, back in August, that they brought us back for the Winter One! As usual, we had a fantastic time and the students loved the all-natural, non-fat tasty smoothies. The event itself was a Hawaiian/Tropical Theme (notice the grass skirts) and the entire room was decorated like a tropical island complete with sand decorating and a kiddie pool!! Not to mention a live steel drum band!! We were honored to be back on campus and always love Brandeis Events. Wow this year went by fast! We end it on a high note, however, finding ourselves at the recently re-done building of 18 Tremont Street in Boston. We once again brought our fold-out coffee bar and served peppermint mochas, cinnamon dolces, ghiradelli hot koko, and kona coffee to over 300 people! It went very well and the entire lobby looked like a Winter Wonderland, complete with Maui Wowi! Mahalo to Robyn for having us in! We are grateful for all the wonderful people, companies and colleges that brought in Maui Wowi this year to be a part of their event. We look forward to working with you again in 2010! This has been one crazy week! We now find ourselves and our Coffee/Latte bar service set up at Totten Pond Business Park in Waltham, MA, serving our lattes, espressos, cappuccinos and kona coffees along side Luberto's Pastries for 400 people in 2 hours!! It was a little insane but fun non the less. Maui Wowi and Luberto's complimented each other perfectly, as people would come up and grab a latte or cappuccino or hot koko or kona coffee to go along side their canoli or cake or any of the hundreds of other pastries Luberto put out. It was a wonderful time and we look forward to working along side them again!

What an awesome time of year, right? Holiday parties and celebrations all over the place and we're happy to be a part of each one. We feel so lucky to be a part of all of these corporate Holiday Parties and Building Holiday parties. Today, we find ourselves at 60 Temple Place in Downtown Boston. We had a great time as usual and everyone loved the peppermint mochas, cinnamon dolces, and ghiradelli hot koko. We love seeing people's faces light up when they walk into the lobby and see Maui Wowi set up there! One other note about this building, the gentleman in the picture above..his name is actually Maui!!! I'm very certain that's not how it's spelled, but he's Italian and came up to the bar and said, "Hey, Maui Wowi! That's what people call me!". I asked why they call him that and he explained his name is Maui. How incredible is that? So, of course he needed to be in the pic. Maybe soon more people will be naming their kids Maui because they love our drinks so much?

Clark University Students Take a Break from Finals and Enjoy Maui Wowi Smoothies!

Clark University had us back on campus for the third time serving up delicious, all-natural, non-fat smoothies to students in the campus center while they were on their way to take their finals, going to study for finals, or finishing finals! We served up strawberry-banana, black raspberry, and lemon wave to all the students passing by. It was a very busy afternoon, but everyone had a great time loved the smoothies. Many said it helped take their minds off finals or put them in a better mood going in to take their test! Mission Accomplished! Wow! What a busy week! Our 4th event in 4 days! We found ourselves at the picturesque campus of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT and we went all-out here. They were having an end of semester Midnight Breakfast and Movie event from 8-12m and the wanted Maui Wowi to be a part of it. In addition to the pancake breakfast (and all the other food) they had us come in and serve up strawberry-banana, mango-orange, lemon wave, and pina colada smoothies along with Mocha/Vanilla Lattes and Ghiradelli Hot Koko! Everyone had a fantastic time and the students were a lot of fun here. Definitely a great way to spend an Arctic Friday night!!

Another Office Park, another Holiday Celebration! This time we find ourselves at Westborough Business Park in Westborough, MA working with Heather and the crew! They were handing out some tasty Gingerbread men (and women) to the corporate tenants of the buildings and we were there to bring some aloha and Christmas Spirit with our Peppermint Mochas, Gingerbread Lattes, Ghiradelli Hot Kokos, and Kona Coffee. It was an awesome time! We did 4 separate buildings with a few hundred tenants in each! It was busy to say the least, but tons of fun. We love working with Property Management Companies! They are tons of fun and it's a great break for all the business and employees that are tenants there. We were invited in to be a part of Highwood Office Park's Holiday Celebration in Tewksbury, MA along side Luberto Pastries from Revere, MA. By the way, do yourself a favor and pick up some pastries from these guys for the Holidays. Holy Cow! Worcester State College Welcomes Maui Wowi Kona Coffees, Espressos, and Hot Koko for Winter in Wooville!

It was Snowing outside and inside at Worcester State College as the campus brought us in to be a part of it's "Winter In Wooville" event this weekend. As you'll see, it was so busy, I only had a chance to take pictures in the beginning and the end when we were cleaning up. It was really busy and they had a great turn-out! The event consisted of a chocolate chip cookie making station, a gift-wrapping station, a place where you could get your picture taken and put on a mug (what a great gift idea!), a pastry station, and of course, Maui Wowi!! We brought our full-service Kona Espresso/Latte/Mocha Bar along with Hot Koko (what winter scene is complete without Hot Koko?) and our Gourmet Kona Coffee. Mahalo to WSC for bringing us in! Aloha from both Lynn, MA and Danvers, MA on the 2 campuses of North Shore Community College. This is our 3rd time on these campuses and our first time offering our full-service gourmet Kona Coffee, Kona Espressos/Lattes/Cappuccinos. We also offered up Ghiaradelli Hot Koko and Iced Lattes and Cappuccinos. All were a huge hit and it was very educational for the students as well. NSCC asked us to educate each student on the background of Kona Coffee and the differences between a latte and a cappuccino. Students had the choice of hot cappuccinos and lattes or iced along with Hot Koko. Each Latte and Cappuccino was flavored with either caramel or vanilla. We had a fantastic time as usual and were happy to provide a treat to the students of NSCC and are looking forward to going back with our All-Natural Fruit Smoothies for their Spring Event in May! Maui Wowi at NACA Northeast Conference in Hartford!!

Ahh, November! Thanksgiving is upon us, the Holidays are coming and NACA's Northeast Conference is here! We love November! Maui Wowi was set up at the Connecticut Convention Center in downtown Hartford once again this year serving sample smoothies and spreading the word about our wonderful service we provide colleges and universities in the Northeast. Just like last year, we had one of the busiest booths at the conference, as students were lining up to try the strawberry-banana, black raspberry, mango-orange, pina colada, and lemon wave flavors we were putting out. We made some great new friends and saw some of the colleges we've worked with over the past year. We love spreading the word about our all-natural, non-fat smoothies and our gourmet Kona Coffee, cappuccinos and espressos! We look forward to seeing you all on campus very soon! Mahalo, NACA!

Maui Wowi Coffee-Espresso-Smoothie Bar back on Zookeeper Set for 5 straight days!!

We were honored to be called back on to the set of Zookeeper. They liked the smoothie bar so much that they called us back to do a coffee-espresso bar for not just one day, but for the entire week!! So, we put in some really long hours, but it was well worth it. Maui Wowi loves serving up fresh, hot Kona Coffee and making Cappuccinos, Lattes, and Espressos. The cast and crew appreciated it too. We got to see some really cool things with them filming right in front of us the majority of the time and got to hang out with everyone once the film wrapped and enjoy the champagne! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we think it says a lot about our service that they had us stay on set for the entire week! More than a few people mentioned our coffee and espresso is like nothing they've ever tasted. Mahalo once again to Marcio and the rest of Zookeeper Productions. Lights, Camera, Smoothies! Maui Wowi on the set of "Zookeeper"

Maui Wowi found ourselves back on yet another Movie Set here in "Hollywood East", as Massachusetts is quickly becoming known. This time, we were on the set of the new Kevin James movie, "Zookeeper". We were brought in to serve fruit smoothies and Kona Coffee to the cast and crew. They set us up right on set and they were filming scenes right in front of us! Kevin James and the rest of the cast and crew would come over and grab a smoothie or a coffee in between takes. It's always an experience for us when we are lucky enough to be asked on to these movie sets. In this particular movie, they loved the Kona Coffee so much they've asked us to come back again this week and do a full-coffee/espresso/cappuccino bar along with our Chillin' Line of Frozen Coffee Smoothies!! Can't wait to go back on set!

Aloha! This week we find ourselves in Historic Plymouth, MA at the campus of Quincy College. They have 2 campuses, one in Quincy, MA and one down here in Plymouth. Maui Wowi was lucky enough to be invited to BOTH campuses to serve our delicious, all-natural, non-fat smoothies to the students. They had us set up right in the main building where are all the students passing by on their way to class could stop and grab a refreshing drink! We'll be on the main Quincy campus on December 8th. It was a fantastic time here overall and everyone got into the Aloha Spirit by having either a Black Raspberry, Lemon Wave, or Pina Colada Smoothie! Serving Smoothies at Salve Regina's Luau!

Once again, Maui Wowi was on campus and this time we were at the beautiful campus of Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. Salve was having a Hawaiian Luau complete with dancers, a simulated surfboard where students could hang ten and of course, the Maui Wowi Tiki Hut!! We served Strawberry-Banana, Lemon Wave and Black Raspberry to all students and they are still trying to figure out what their favorite flavor was! BPG Property Management Wesborough Office Park BBQ!

Well, it's 9/9/09..and it's our third event for BPG! Our third and final appearance of the Summer for BPG Property Managment. This time we were in Westborough, MA serving smoothies to the coporate tennants and it was the biggest crowd yet! No DJ this time, but they did have accapella singers as well as the same fantastic food to go along side our delicious, all-natural, non-fat smoothies!
