Newburyport Yankee Homecoming 2009!

Back in Newburyport once again! This time we were camped out for a week long event known as Yankee Homecoming. it's a huge 7 day festival and the weather finally came around, making it great weather for smoothies. Most days were 85 degrees or higher and there was only a couple of days of rain. We had a ton of fun here and look forward to doing it again each year.

Newburyport River Fest 2009

Back again in Newburyport for River Fest! This is one of our favorite events of the year. Newburyport puts on a Rock Concert with a major recording artist every year right on the water. Roughly 25,000 people show up, all looking for smoothies from Maui Wowi!! Okay, well maybe not all of them, but definitely a lot. We served from morning 'til night and it was a great time had by all!

Maui Wowi back at the DeCordova Art In The Park Festival 2009

Yet another one of our favorite events is the DeCordova Art in The Park Festival in Lincoln, MA. This is not just your average museum. It wouldn't even do me justice to try and describe it, so please do yourself a favor and visit for yourself. You won't be disappointed! This year it poured pretty much all day, but we still sold plenty of coffee and smoothies! It was wet, but a lot of fun and we were happy to keep people warm with a nice cup of Kona Coffee while they waited for it to get sunny and buy a smoothie!

Cambridge River Festival 2009

Same location, same spot, different event 1 week later. This weekend Maui Wowi found ourselves serving smoothies to the 100,000 plus people at the Cambridge River Festival on Memorial Drive. We were in the exact same spot as last week during the Dragon Boat Festival, which was convenient and it was just as succesful! The line didn't die down all day! A big Mahalo goes out to both Kendra and Lincoln for serving smoothies all day long to that many people! It was great to hear everyone's feedback on how we were a perfect healthy treat for such a hot sunny day!

Maui Wowi at 2009 Boston Dragon Boat Festival

What a cool event this was and what a beautiful day! Looks like the weather is finally picking up. Maui Wowi was at this unique event held on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, serving smoothies to the crowd while also getting the chance to watch the Dragon Boats race each other! We were honored to have been a part of such a unique and fun event that drew 100,000 people! We hope to be there again next year!

Dancing Smoothies!

One of the greatest things about our smoothies and coffees is that they appeal to people from all different walks of life, which is why we were a pefect fit for the Cambridge World Of Dance Festival in Harvard Square! We served smoothies to all the dancers and spectators all day long and was a tremendous success! It was a hot, sunny Saturday, so the dancers appreciated us keeping them cool with a healthy, tasty drink!

Newburyport Spring Fest 2009!

Once again Maui Wowi finds itself in the town it works the most in: Newburyport, MA! What a perfect place for smoothies. Beautiful weather, great people, right on the water...I could go on. We are always well received here and FINALLY got some nice weather! It was nice to not have to sell smoothies in the rain or cold for once. The weather was great, the lines were long, and the smoothies and coffees were flowing! A perfect Memorial Day Weekend!

Maui Wowi Back at Longmeadow Meadow Days Festival!!

One of our favorite places to visit is Longmeadow, MA. Not only is this a fantastic New England Town, but they LOVE Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies! Even the rainy cold weather couldn't stop these people from getting their tropical drinks! We can't serve them fast enough over the 2 day Meadow Days Event!! Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet are here and it's a pleasure to serve them smoothies!

Maui Wowi Serving Up Smoothies in Harvard Square

Well, it's that time of year again. When you can find Maui Wowi virtually anywhere! In addition to catering and fixed locations around Boston and the North Shore, we participate as a vendor at many street festivals and concerts that you frequent throughout the Spring and Summer! We want to make it easy for you to be able to taste our all-natural, non-fat smoothies and gourmet Kona Coffees! Today, we were at MayFair in Cambridge right in Harvard Square. If you haven't been before, this is one of the largest 1 day events in New England. There were over 100,000 people there and the blenders were going all day long, selling everything from Passion Papaya to Lemon Wave smoothies. These pictures are from the begining of the day. We got there and began serving at noon, and never looked up until 6pm until it was over. There were some great bands playing too, like Chester French. Overall a great day and we were happy the weather held out. See you again and The Cambridge River Festival in a few weeks!

Look below to see some of the College Events we did over the past week. The Maui Wowi College Tour continues!

Maui Wowi Serves up Smoothies, Coffees & Hot Koko at Newburyport Fall Festival

Who said people don't want a nice, refreshing all-natural smoothie in 55 degree weather? Maui Wowi once again found itself in the wonderful city of Newburyport serving our delicious smoothies, coffees and Hot Koko to the crowd there. While the weather in Boston and the rest of Massachusetts was 70 degrees, it was barely 60 and very windy in Newburyport, but that didn't stop people from enjoying Maui Wowi smoothies as they do every time we are there. Many came back for a second time to have a delicious Ghiradelli Hot Koko with whipped cream or a warm cup of our Kona Coffee to stay hot the rest of the day and enjoy the festivities. All along the streets, the lamp-posts were decorated with custom scarecrows which made for a lot of fun as well. Just take a look at the one donated by the Boy Scouts. It's Scout Vadar! Very creative. Once again, Mahalo to the Chamber of Commerce in Newburyport and all who showed up!

Maui Wowi Serves Smoothies to the crowd at the Newburyport Buskers Festival

Aloha! Maui Wowi was back in Newburyport once again serving smoothies and frozen blended Kona Coffees to the crowd on-hand for the Buskers Festvial. For all who aren't familiar with what a "Busker" is, Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities. People engaging in this practice are called buskers. So, that means there were plenty of street performers on hand, most performing right in front of us, and it was a great time had by all. There were some very talented people there that will surely be stars in the future. Lots of other acts, including the Blue Man Group and Steve Martin, got their start doing this exact same thing. Maui Wowi was happy to be a part of this event, sponsored by the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce. We love Newburyport and hope to be invited back to this event again next year! Mahalo to all those who stopped by to enjoya Kona Mocha Chill or a smoothie!

Maui Wowi at the New England Sand-Sculpting Festival

Another event we love vending at is the New England Sand Sculpting Festival on Revere Beach in Revere, MA. This is one of the coolest events by far in New England. You really appreciate how much time and effort is put into each sand sculpture when you watch them get built from scratch and get to see the end result. What's more, is they last so long! I'm sure we've all attempted to build a sand-castle or two in our lifetime, only to have the wind or ocean knock it down. After being around these magificent sculptures, I started to forget they were sand and began thinking of them as stone sculptures! Next year, we are going to have one of the sculptors make us a Tiki Hut made of sand to serve our smoothies and Kona from! Mere words cannot describe how busy this event can get for vendors. The sea of people that came by to get a sip of smoothie paradise was going strong all 4 days, but Saturday was unbelievable. The beautiful weather, combined with the mind-blowing sculptures on the beach made for a perfect day for everyone. We'd like to think that having a Maui Wowi smoothie in their hand made it even better! Mahalo to the city of Revere and Celebrity Marketing, Inc, who produced the event and made it possible for us to be there.

Maui Wowi at the Hartfod Riverfront Festival

When we are not doing catering for private events, we can be found selling our smoothies and coffees as a vendor at many major events in New England. On July 5th, Maui Wowi served smoothies as a vendor at the Hartford Riverfront Festival in Hartford, CT. The event is essentially Hartford's version of the Boston July 4th celebration and despite a little bad weather, it was a fantastic event for all who attended. The final estimate was 350,000 people. Not too shabby! Sometimes it felt as though all 350,000 were at our booth buying smoothies, which is never a bad thing, just really keeps us going. We brought the Ka'Annapali Cart (see the pic) and it was a big hit. People would walk by, very curious about what it is that we do, and they would almost always come back for a smoothie or coffee. It was a great way to spend the day and we were fortunate enough to meet some great people while there. Mahalo to the city of Hartford and all who attended the Riverfront Festival!

Maui Wowi at The Amherst Boys & Girls Club Event

We were invited to serve our delicious, all-natural, fat-free smoothies and Hawaiian Kona Coffee to the guests and attendees of the Amherst Boys & Girls Club Event in July. We were very honored to have been asked to serve our smoothies and coffees there and had a great time doing it! Everyone loved the Pina Colada, Mango Orange and Strawberry-Banana Flavors and we got a lot of compliments on the gourmet Kona coffee. We take great pride in serving both and were even happier to be able to do it for a great organization such as the Amherst Boys & Girls Club!

Maui Wowi at Bike Week in Laconia, NH!

WOW. Who would have ever guessed that Bikers love smoothies?!? We made the hour and half trip up to Weirs Beach in New Hampshire to sell our smoothies and coffees to the bikers for the week at Laconia Bike Week 2008. We spent 9 straight days there. What an experience! It was our first time at Bike Week and we were very curious to see how our product would sell to the Bikers. Make no mistake about it, Bikers Love smoothies! They also know gourmet coffee when they see it and would line up every morning for either an iced or hot Kona coffee straight from the "Big Island". The Mocha Chill sold out in 2 days!!

In addition, We met many, many great people up there whom we are sure to be friends with many years to come. We introduced them to smoothie paradise too, and they continued to comment that they couldn't believe something that tasted so good was also good for you! Mango Orange was by far our biggest seller for the week. Special Thanks goes out to the girls from Outback Leather seal too, who were very helpful to us in helping hand out samples as well as keeping us entertained for the week while they gave free motorcycle boot shines to all who passed by. Many bikers would stop by to get their boots conditioned, get smoothie sample and head on over to the K-Cart for a smoothie, based on the girl's reccommendations.

Another Big Mahalo goes out to "Chickie" from George's Gourmet Grill for not only keeping us fed all week long with his delicious gourmet steak tip sandwhiches, grilled chicken sandwiches, 1/4lb. hot dogs, and sausages; but also for having his son, Chris and his girlfriend Annie give us a hand with samples and set-up/take down every day. Some of the nicest people you will ever meet!! They can be found all over Boston as well, including at all the Boston Cannons Pro Lacrosse games at Harvard Stadium. Be sure to stop in and get a steak tip sandwich if you're there! Tell them Maui Wowi sent you!

Maui Wowi at DeCordova Museum

On June 8th, Maui Wowi was invited to serve smoothies to the people visiting the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA at the Annual Art in the Park Art Sale. We were honored to be invited and proudly showed up with the Ka'Annapali Cart, our all-natural delicious smoothies (black raspberry, mango orange, pina colada and strawberry-banana) as well as our Mocha Chill Coffee frappuccinos. We set records for smoothies served at an Art Sale and Lincoln, MA set records for Heat!! It was 97 degrees all day and we were melting, but it was a perfect day for a nice cold smoothie to keep everyone cool. All of the vendors selling art were also greatful we were there in the morning to serve them iced Kona Coffee. Even with the heat, we actually served a few people hot Kona coffee as well. All in all, a great day with some very talented artists! We look forward to being there again next year!

Maui Wowi at Newburyport Springfest

Maui Wowi was lucky enough to spend the 2008 Memorial Day Weekend in Newburyport, MA. It seems we discover a new favorite town every weekend! As a proud member of the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce, we are excited that this is only the first of 4 Newburyport events we'll be attending this year and serving our delicious smoothies and coffees. To say it was a great weekend, would be a severe understatement. The weather could not have been better with 80 degrees and sunny each day.The smoothies were flowing and the iced and hot Kona Coffee was getting everyone into the Aloha Spirit! There was a coffee company from Seattle nearby, that you may have heard of, with a kiosk that didn't stand a chance to our Kona Coffee. I think they were giving coffee away, and still didn't have lines as long as ours. We were very proud of that and to be associated with people who know good Kona Coffee when they see it!! As far as our famous smoothies go, it was non-stop all weekend long and our pleasure to serve our healthy drinks to the visitors and residents of Newburyport. What we enjoyed most was seeing a lot of people come back for a second and third one! Even we were surprised at that! If we were to open up a Maui Wowi store, this might be the first place we'd look to open one. We're looking forward to our next Newburyport event, The River Music Festival. Mahalo!

Maui Wowi at "Meadow Days" in Longmeadow, MA

All we can say is, WOW(I)! What a great town Longmeadow is! It's picturesque and home to some of the nicest people you could meet. The Aloha spirit was going strong here. This was our first time at Meadow Days, but not the first time for Maui Wowi. We don't know for sure how many people turned out for this event, but we didn't exactly have time to count either, as we had a line of 20-30 people all day long for both days wanting to try our delicious Hawaiian Smoothies and Coffees. We estimate serving over 500 smoothies per day! Who even knew that was possible? Not only did the good people of Longmeadow get to enjoy some healthy, delicious smoothies, but a portion of the proceeds went back to the Longmeadow Historical Society, which organizes the 2 day event each year. We look forward to being back at Longmeadow again next year!
